KOURI ISLAND, OKINAWA

Restaurant
L LOTA

I stopped at L LOTA for lunch with Kouri Bridge beyond the table. I would make time for the meal itself rather than treat the restaurant as a quick photo stop. The salad, pasta and dessert made it a proper lunch, with the bridge view as a bonus.

01

The view is the first course

From my table at L LOTA, I could look towards Kouri Bridge while staying with the meal. The elevated setting keeps the island close even after the sightseeing stops. I would build lunch into the route here, instead of treating it as a hurried break from driving.

02

Local ingredients, comforting style

The restaurant’s concept focuses on ingredients from Kouri Island and Okinawa. My meal moved from a crisp, colourful salad to a rich seasonal pasta with bread. The pasta looked generous and comforting—exactly the sort of plate that suits a relaxed afternoon rather than a rushed sightseeing stop.

Save room for dessert

I finished with ice cream, crumble and sauce served in a glass. After the pasta, dessert kept me at the table for another look towards the island. It is the sort of pause I would allow for before setting the next driving destination.

04

Book with the whole route in mind

L LOTA serves lunch, café and dinner menus, but hours and reservation rules vary. Check the current menu and book before building the day around it—especially if a window or terrace view matters to you.
